College Café Catering Procedures

General Overview

As a starting point, we have gathered information to assist you in planning your next event. The following procedures have been developed to ensure we can fulfill your event expectations in a timely and efficient manner. Please contact the Catering Department at (561) 868-3068 if you have any questions regarding these guidelines.

Exclusivity

  • The College Café will not provide any food or service if an outside caterer is being utilized for any part of an event. Outside caterers must provide all food, beverages, utensils, condiments; room set up and clean up.
  • The College Café refrigeration equipment may not be used by any outside vendor due to Health Department regulations.
  • Minimum order during business hours - $50.00
  • Minimum order after hours and weekends - $300.00.  Afterhours fees may apply.
  • The College Café has the first right of refusal for any catering function.

Requests/Confirmation/Guarantees

  • Requests for catering must be made in writing at least seven (7) working days in advance for all catered events to ensure that all items can be ordered and received on time. We understand that last minute needs do arise, and we will attempt to provide all requested services within the time and physical capabilities of the personnel and facilities.
  • Once a request is received, you will receive a proposal sheet outlining the catering services to be provided. This proposal must be signed and sent back to the Catering Department.
  • All final changes, including the minimum guaranteed guest count, must take place at least 2 business days prior to your function. If you do not confirm your final count within the 2 business days allowed, we will prepare for the estimated number. You will be billed for 100% of your guaranteed count or the actual number, whichever is greater.
  • If your event is cancelled, you are responsible for contacting the Catering Department to notify us of the cancellation. You will be responsible for 75 % of your food bill for any event that is not cancelled, in writing, within 2 working days of the function.
  • All events that will have participants / guests (groups of 10 or more) using the Dining Hall for catering must also inform the Catering Department and Campus Scheduling at least 7 days prior to the event date.
  • All events that will use rental equipment (china, stainless flatware, glasses, linens for guest tables, etc.) or service staff, must be finalized no later than 7 days prior to the event date.

Payment

  • All catered functions for individuals and non-college related groups are required to make a 50 percent down deposit one week prior to the event. Payment in full is required within 30 days after the event. Personal checks (checks can be made payable to College Café), credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) and cash are valid payment methods.
  • For all catered functions that will be paid through the college, payment must be made in full within 30 days after the event.
